Female dispatcher (repeating beat cop’s earlier description obtained from a witness):

“Male. Unknown race. Five-ten. Cream jacket. Black mask. Black gloves. Fled northbound on the alleyway between 54 and 55 Street.”

Mobilization point: 1335 Sixth Avenue

SECOND DESCRIPTION of suspect obtained at around 7:05 a.m.:

“White male. Six foot one. Skinny… wearing a black jacket. Black hat. A black ski mask. Black backpack.”

At approximately 7:07 a.m. “…responded over here… got footage of the perp.”

At approx. 7:08 a.m., a male cop says, “Be advised the perp ran towards the location that he came from… … committed the shooting… then he ran back in the same direction… so he ran back towards 55…”

Dispatch: “That’s from the video, correct?”

Cop: “Correct. That’s from the video. ”

Another cop: “I need more crime scene tape.”

One can surmise that the initial description was from a witness who saw the back of the suspect and mistook the backpack for the jacket.
