Dual Citizenship
Luigi Mangione obtained Italian citizenship in 2008 courtesy of his grandfather’s heritage.
An Italian citizen risks being sentenced to death in a foreign country. But Italy’s government, unlike in the past in similar cases, so far has not said a word in public to prevent it nor does it seem to intend to do it.
That citizen is Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old from Baltimore who on December 4th killed Brian Thompson, CEO of the health insurance giant UnitedHealthcare, in New York City.
